The outcry over a recent 'Good Morning America' segment, in which a San Francisco mother said she gave her 8-year-old daughter Botox injections before beauty pageants, has now prompted Bay Area child protective services to investigate the family.

Callers flooded the phone lines of the Human Services Agency, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, after Kerry Campbell appeared on 'GMA' with daughter Britney, 8, discussing the extreme beauty regimen, including hair-waxing as well as Botox.

The controversial mom, who claims she's a trained esthetician, wasn't making a first-time confession on 'GMA' -- earlier this year, the 34-year-old demonstrated for a British news outlet her technique for administering Botox injections into her little girl's face, and claimed the practice is growing on the kiddie pageant circuit.

Of her Botox shots, Britney told 'GMA' correspondent Lara Spencer, "It hurt sometimes, but I get used to it."
