PRLog (Press Release) ? Feb 25, 2011 ? Each year the 106.7 KBPI Radio Station in Denver Colorado forms a team of automotive companies to supply parts for and custom design a vehicle which one listener will win a working ignition key to. For 2011 a 1977 Ford Pickup Truck was the pick. KBPI Radio knew of ATS Diesel and ATS was contacted about taking point on the build. Over a series of weeks the listeners of KBPI will vote online about which components and design features they would like to see happen with the truck.

The overall sponsor of the contest, Bud Light Beer, put a crew together to design and build a studio which would be placed in ATS Diesel?s headquarters and serve as the base for the project. Listeners of KBPI will be able to log onto http://www.kbpi.com/ pages/MetalShop7.html while the work is being done and see live streaming pictures of the progress. During the first week fans of the station were given a choice of diesel engines to replace the original 460 cubic inch gas engine. The Cummins inline-six was the top pick and will be built and transplanted into the truck by ATS. The first order of business will be creation of the engine compartment and suspension needed to support the larger engine.

The body of the truck will be modified and updated and custom paint will be added along with a cluster of custom parts from ATS Diesel and Jazz It Up Truck & Auto Accessories. Coyote Motorsports will supply a ?surprise? powersports toy to go in the bed of the truck at the completion of the build.

As the contest progresses, listeners of KBPI Radio will enter win an ignition key for the truck. At the end of the contest a bar or nightclub in Denver will be chosen to host the giveaway where one listener?s key will be the working one that starts the truck. In addition to the streaming pictures on the KBPI website, ATS will stream content on the http://www.ATSdiesel.com/ kbpi website and ATS? Facebook Group Page.
