Sandra Bullock and Demi Lovato Donate $1 Million Each to Japan Disaster Relief

According to several reports, Actress Sandra Bullock and Demi Lovato have donated $1 million each to the Japanese disaster relief.

CNN is reporting that Bullock sent the donation to the American Red Cross to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan. The contribution was made by 'The Blind Side' actress on behalf of her family.

The Red Cross also reports that this was the largest celebrity donation to date, although the charity may have received larger contributions that were kept confidential at the donors' request.

CeleBuzz is saying that actress Demi Lovato too has donated $1 million to the relief efforts in Japan and she is encouraging her fans to do the same.

Lovato was spotted in Los Angeles holding the Japanese flag with the words 'Please Help' written across it, trying to drum up monetary support for the relief efforts.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Black Eyed Peas are dedicating their latest video to the victims of the Japanese Disaster.

The Peas shot the video for the song 'Just Can't Get Enough' in Japan just a week before the disaster hit.

The video will now start with the message, "This video was filmed in Japan one week before the earthquake and tsunami."

And the message continues to say, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you."

Lady Gaga was one of the first celebrities to lend a support to the Japanese relief effort. The singer has designed a white and red wristband for fans to purchase in her official online store, and she said that all sales proceeds will benefit victims of the disaster.

Gaga also revealed that the $5 price tag can be voluntarily increased by any buyers wishing to boost their monetary donations.

The Red Cross urges: "Text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific."
