'Jersey Shore' star Ronnie Magro applies for pre-trial intervention; will be able to tape in Italy

"Jersey Shore" star Ronnie Magro , arrested on aggravated assault charges last year for punching out another man in an on-camera confrontation, will apply for a pre-trial intervention program that would let him avoid a criminal record if he stays out of trouble, the Asbury Park Press reports.

Um, have prosecutors seen "Jersey Shore"? Just this season, one could argue, there are grounds for criminal mischief and simple assault ("A person commits a simple assault if he attempts, by physical menace, to put another in fear of imminent serious bodily injury," according to New Jersey state law).

Anyhoo: The application to the program will allow Magro to travel to Italy to film the show's fourth season, says Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Hillary Bryce.
